1-Day Jungle Trekking in Chiang Rai - Long Tail Boat, Elephants, Hill Tribes, Tea Plantation & Nature Scenery
Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Pai & Northern Thailand, Thailand
Hello, everyone, my name is Tao Wimae. I am a private local tour guide in Thailand, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai region.
I am from in the Northern part of Thailand in Chiang Rai city which is about 879 km away from Bangkok. I was born in the country side of Border Myanmar and Thailand. I am from the Akha hill tribe, and I used to live in the nature jungle or at the country side of Thailand. I studied nine subjects in high school including Biology, History, English, etc... The subjects were taught in English, and I started speaking English when I was young. I finished high school in 1993, and when I was 19, I left and taught English at a school near the border of Myanmar and China.
I used to trek and hike a lot in the jungle. I learn about the forest plants, which are used to heal, which are edible and which are poisonous. All together I have about 20 years in the jungle, and now I am a trekking guide. I enjoy sharing and teaching about the Akha hill tribe ways, and I love to show and share how do our people live in the forest with beautiful or wilds animals and lead a natural living life. Cooking in the jungles by Bamboo is the most of our original traditional style. Almost everything that comes from the forest is useful and good for us.
I will bring you to the best areas to trek in Chiang Rai. I offer 1 to 3 days jungles trekking as well as 1 to 2 days sightseeing around in the North of Thailand. Let's us explore the nature forests by trekking with me! I look forward to serve you as a private local tour guide in Thailand, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai region.
Begin your adventure by traveling up the Kok River in the long tail boat. The 1 hour journey will take you on a serene and scenic ride along the river. Stop at a Karen village, enjoy and interact with the elephants, the animal sacred to Thailand. Take a walk to the local day market to see the 3 different hill tribes, the Karen, Akha & Lahu tribes, living and getting on with their daily lives side by side each other. After that have a lunch in the village, relax and and enjoy a cup of tea. From the village, take a boat ride to the natural hot spring. Enjoy swimming, a dip in the pool or soak your feet in the pool. After enjoying, take a hike up the hill of Lahu village, through valleys, forests and enjoy views of the waterfall along the way... We continue on to a lush Tea plantation... and enjoy a bird’s eye view of the scenery. We can also explore the KMT(Chinese) people village too. Hike back to the hot-spring where we will make our way back to city, at 4.30pm by taxi car.
