Hello, everyone, my name is Tao Wimae. I am a private local tour guide in Thailand, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai region.

I am from in the Northern part of Thailand in Chiang Rai city which is about 879 km away from Bangkok. I was born in the country side of Border Myanmar and Thailand. I am from the Akha hill tribe, and I used to live in the nature jungle or at the country side of Thailand. I studied nine subjects in high school including Biology, History, English, etc... The subjects were taught in English, and I started speaking English when I was young. I finished high school in 1993, and when I was 19, I left and taught English at a school near the border of Myanmar and China.

I used to trek and hike a lot in the jungle. I learn about the forest plants, which are used to heal, which are edible and which are poisonous. All together I have about 20 years in the jungle, and now I am a trekking guide. I enjoy sharing and teaching about the Akha hill tribe ways, and I love to show and share how do our people live in the forest with beautiful or wilds animals and lead a natural living life. Cooking in the jungles by Bamboo is the most of our original traditional style. Almost everything that comes from the forest is useful and good for us.

I will bring you to the best areas to trek in Chiang Rai. I offer 1 to 3 days jungles trekking as well as 1 to 2 days sightseeing around in the North of Thailand. Let's us explore the nature forests by trekking with me! I look forward to serve you as a private local tour guide in Thailand, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai region.

Wat Rongkhun

The White Temple is one of the most spectacular temples you will see in Thailand. Wat Rong Khun is a unique temple that stands out through the white color and the use of pieces of glass in the plaster, sparkling in the sun. The white color signifies the purity of the Buddha, while the glass signifies the Buddha’s wisdom and the Dhamma, the Buddhist teachings.

Black House

Baan Dam (Black House) is the unique creation of national artist, Thawan Duchanee. Part art studio, part museum, part home, Baan Dam is an eclectic mix of traditional northern Thai buildings interspersed with some outlandish modern designs. The Black House isn’t just one structure, but a collection of around 40 buildings of varying shapes and sizes dotted around a peaceful garden. The largest structure is located by the main entrance and sets the tone for what visitors can expect as they explore the rest of the site.

Monkey Cave & Golden Triangle

The landscape of Golden Triangle is very hilly. The Ruack River and the Mekong River provides the boundary for Thailand, Laos and Burma. The area is known for growing opium during the colonial periods.

Chiang Sean City

Chiang Sean City sits at the banks of Mae Khong River, this quiet town used to be the gateway to the golden triangle. Visit the various historical sites such as Wat Pa Sak.

One of the most popular things to do in Bangkok is visit a floating market, and there are quite a few markets to choose from. While some of the most famous floating markets are located outside of Bangkok, like Damnoen Saduak and Amphawa, there are others that are well worth visiting right within the city. For the atmosphere, natural beauty, and most importantly for the food, Khlong Lat Mayom (ตลาดน้ำคลองลัดมะยม), a floating market located on the outskirts of central Bangkok, is one of  my favorite floating markets in Bangkok.
