This is a walking trail heritage tour around in major George Town Heritage City site. Covers Town/City Hall, Esplanade, Diamond Jubilee Queen Elizabeth Clock Tower, Beach Street, Pinang Peranakan Mansion, Little India, Goddess of Mercy Temple, Khoo Kongsi, Dr Sun Yat Sun Museum. Street arts around George Town area. 

 

Town/City Hall

The tour at Town Hall where British administration form their administration office in Penang island in year 1880. Over the year, the building has been renovated a few times. Besides Town Hall, the City Hall building is also standing away from the sea. Esplanade is outside Town Hall and City Hall and a place for special events to hold here. 

 

Diamond Jubilee Queen Elizabeth Clock Tower

Queen Memorial Clock Tower was built to memorial Queen Elizabeth diamond jubilee reigned. The clock tower has 4 sizes and each size has a clock. The clock tower bell is not in operation. 

 

Pinang Peranakan Mansion 

Pinang Peranakan Mansion is owned by one rich Chinese kapitan in Perak and also a Chinese secret society headquarter in Penang. Many antique collection are displayed in the mansion. The mansion has ranked one of the most visit places in Penang island. 

Little India 

Little India is a small Indian community in George Town. They settle and run their own business likes spices, clothes, restaurants to name a few. 

Goddess of Mercy Temple 

Located in Pitt Street or Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling. The street is also known as Harmony Street in Penang because a few religion buildings are located on this road. This road was got heavy bombed by Japanese soldiers in WW2. 

Khoo Kongsi Clan House 

Khoo Kongsi is one of the finest clan architecture out China. The building has outstanding workmanship and fengshui elements. The wall mural is also very impressive and intangible value to the Chinese culture. 

Dr Sun Yat Sen Penang Base 

Dr Sun Yat Sen Penang Base is a shop house turned to a museum. This house had been used by Dr Sun for China revolution in 1910. Besides understand Dr Sun in Penang, the house has other factors to offer to visitors such as complementary tea, nice photography places and more. 

Street arts

Mural street arts are also main attraction to lure Chinese China and local visitors to George Town.
